Radiographic Interpretation
Radiographic interpretation is the process of using X-ray and gamma radiation to examine the structural integrity of welds, castings and forgings. By using radiography, engineers and technicians can quickly and safely inspect welds and other metal components for any deficiencies or defects.
Radiographic interpretation to British Standard, ASME, and ASTM requires the use of specialized radiographic techniques, such as dual film, dual-energy, and contrast methods. These specialized techniques allow for a more comprehensive examination of the welds, castings, and forgings, providing detailed information on their structural integrity. Additionally, specialized software can be used to analyze the radiographic images, further increasing the accuracy of the test results.
Radiographic interpretation is a critical part of quality assurance and quality control processes. It is important to ensure that welds, castings, and forgings meet the requirements of British Standard, ASME, and ASTM. By utilizing radiographic interpretation, engineers, technicians, and inspectors can ensure that all welds, castings, and forgings are of the highest quality and meet the required standards. This helps to ensure the safety and reliability of all metal components, making them suitable for use in a wide range of applications.
